The World I Want to Live In
Everyone has their vision of the world they want to live in. I am no different. As I grow and learn more about the world around me, I begin to imagine what is the world that I want to live in. Maybe a world where world peace is not just a dream, maybe a world justice system is not based on how wealthy or powerful an individual is, or just maybe a world without racism and bullying in any sorts of way. In this blog, I will share what the world that I want to live in looks like and why I believe it is something that humanity must strive for.
In this world, everyone will have their voice heard and respected by others, so no one will be silenced because of their different background, beliefs, or status with society. In my world, no leaders could abuse their power for self-interest, same as police brutality to innocent people. Racial discrimination will not exist, so people come together as friends and understand each other as they encounter one another on the street. Children grow up in their neighbourhood feeling safe, with value and sense of belonging. Laws exist to not only punish the wrongdoings of people, but to also protect and give power to people as well. Nations will resolve differences not through war and violence, but through peaceful negotiation. Justice will not mean rich people will have it, but it is for everyone one else regardless of their status in life.
I can see how bullying can have a lasting impact on a person from my own experience in primary school. Being isolated and made fun of because of doing things in your own way. This creates emotional burdens that can stick with you for the rest of your life and I understand that feeling all too well myself. This is why the world I dream to live in matters so much to me. It is not just an imaginary world that I want to live in but one I wish I had long ago. Today, we still have larger issues like racism, inequality, and corruption all around the world which might slow us down from changing the world. Meanwhile, injustice also happens every day, and many voices are ignored or covered up by those who have more wealth and power. However, all of these bigger issues will changed if we begin to solve the smaller issues like bullying first. I believe a peaceful, and fair world is not just a dream if we can change the world together.
So, what is the reason holding us back from making this kind of world real, you may ask. Honestly, a lot of it comes down to how people think and judge. Some folks still judge others without even knowing them. There’s also greed, fear, and systems that have been unfair for way too long. Change isn’t easy, I get that. But it has to start somewhere. Maybe it starts with small actions such as listening more, being kind, speaking up when something’s wrong. Maybe it starts when we try to learn and understand each other better. I believe in humans that we can make this world a better place if everyone give more attention to all these changes that we had to make. The peaceful and fair world I dream about? It could end up possible if we keep this up and don't back down. We can't give up especially now if we want this world to be better, I know that many started to change, we had come so far. Heads up, look forward, future awaits.
